NOTIFICATION OF CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASE ON CAMPUS
October 19, 2020
Dear Parent/Guardian,
In keeping with Happy ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families that a STUDENT has been lab-confirmed to have COVID-19. This student was last present on the campus of Happy High School last Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct.13 and 14. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.
Happy ISD will conduct a thorough contact trace and notify you and your child of any affirmative direct exposure.
Although daily sanitization procedures are followed, this past weekend, October 17-18, 2020, Happy ISD was sanitized and deep cleaned. Symptoms amongst students will continue to be closely monitored. All Happy ISD employees and students are instructed to continue to follow TEA guidelines and recommendations and to practice social distancing.
While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individual have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, we advise you to monitor the health of your child and contact your primary care physician if your child develops symptoms.
Any of the following symptoms indicate a possible COVID-19 infection:
If you or any member of the Happy ISD community does begin experiencing any of these symptoms in a way that his not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician. We encourage anyone in the Happy ISD community who is lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 to please notify our school by contacting 806-558-5311.
Happy ISD is continuing to monitor this situation and will provide additional information as needed. We, as a school, want to do what we can to keep our students learning on-campus and participating in extra-curricular activities. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school at (806) 558-5311.
Sincerely, In partnership,
Ray Keith Jennifer Sperry
